About Me

I am a hardworking professional, single mother, grad student, den mother, and Girl Scout leader. I have a deep love for technology and started my own web-design business back in 2005. I have seen the evolution of web-design beginning with Microsoft FrontPage, then Macromedia, and now Adobe. Although I no longer devote my life to the web, I still dabble in the field to this day. I find search engine optimization (SEO) to be most fascinating and would identify as an SEO novice.

Much of my experience is self-taught, as when I was introduced to the field of web-design there were no credible classes that existed. I am looking forward to this class teaching me the foundation and the basics, of which I have missed.

Other cool things about me: I have 2 young children, 2 dogs and a cat. I lived on Kodiak Island in Alaska for 4 years, and my favorite color is orange. =)

EMM Goals

My goal for this program is to devlop the university's first interactive augmented relaity self-led campus tour. This tablet-ready software program will be targeted toward eighth grade students and focus on encouraging them toward a college-going path.
I plan to develop the program in Unity utilizing geolocation, and an app similiar to Aurasma. I am hoping to write & receive a technology grant where I will invest in multiple tablets for the middle school students to utilize during their campus visit. I will begin the development process for this program within the next three months.
